Ankara - Anadolu

Danish court found Roj TV, a Kurdish satelite TV station, and Mesopotamia guilty of inciting terrorism, and ordered them to halt broadcasts and fining to 5 million Danish kroner each. The Eastern High Court (Østre Landsret) revoked Roj TV and Mesopotamia's broadcast licenses. The Copenhagen City Court said in January 2012 that Roj TV could continue broadcasting, sparking celebrations among Kurds in Denmark and sharp protests from Turkey. The higher court backed Turkish claims that Roj TV is a mouthpiece for PKK terrorist organization, which is also considered a terrorist organization by the European Union and the United States. Turkey pleased over Denmark's Roj TV decision  Turkey welcomed Danish court's decision that found Roj TV and Mesopotamia guilty of inciting terrorism, and fined them to pay 5.2 million Danish kroner each and revoked their broadcast licenses. "It was registered that PKK is a terrorist organization and it is financed and propagandized by Roj TV," said in the statement issued by Turkish Foreign Ministry. Turkey's Ambassador in Copenhagen Berki Dibek also defined the court's decision as "historic" . Dibek said "PKK as a terrorist organization is approved by the decision of the court."
