Bahrain Television has celebrated Saudi Arabia’ 87th National Day with great fanfare, dedicating its programmes to the special event.
Special tributes were paid to the deep-rooted relations between the two neighbouring countries and to outstanding binds of fraternity and friendship between the people in both kingdoms.
Patriotic songs lauding achievements and successes of Saudi Arabia since it was established by King Abdulaziz Al Saud, the founder of the kingdom, were displayed throughout the day.
The programming also included reports that covered the progress of Saudi Arabia into a kingdom with its special standing among Arab and Muslim countries and its advanced international status.
Various aspects of life in Saudi Arabia were also highlighted in the reports and in the programmes.
Saudi anchors were brought in to present some of the programmes on television, a gesture that indicated the depth of the cooperation in the media sector between the two kingdoms, linked since November 1986 by the King Fahad Causeway.
Officials interviewed on Bahrain Television praised the advances accomplished by Saudi Arabia in several fields and the prosperity enjoyed by the people.
On Friday, Minister of Information Affairs Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi hailed in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia in serving Islam and championing the Arab and Islamic causes.
“Saudi Arabia is setting a pioneering model for regional and international peace, security and stability, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,” Al Romaihi said.
The minister paid tribute to late monarch King Abdulaziz Al Saud, who laid the foundations of a modern state with a spiritual stature in the heart of the Arab and Islamic nations.
He said the deep-rooted historic ties binding leaders and peoples of both countries were built on the basis of long-standing amity, mutual respect, geographic and civilizational proximity, religion, language, kinship relations and shared destiny.
“Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have established model relations that value Arabian Gulf fraternity; Arab and Islamic solidarity, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa”, he said.
Al Romaihi paid tribute to the two leaders for their keenness on preserving Arabian Gulf unity, strengthening pan-Arab action, protecting Arab security, following into the steps of the founding father of Saudi Arabia and his successors.
He expressed Bahrain’s pride and gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its unwavering honourable stances, down history, in support of its security, stability and development.
The minister stressed the pivotal leverage of Saudi Arabia, being the strategic cornerstone that maintains the Gulf security and stability and the shield that staves off foreign interferences and confronts terrorist and extremist organisations.
“The world looks with admiration to the Saudi leader for his landmark stances, wise leadership of the Arab and Islamic world and enlightened initiatives in support of dialogue, peaceful co-existence between peoples and civilisations,” he said.
He highlighted Saudi assistance to poor and disaster-hit countries and firm leadership of the Arab and Islamic alliance to combat extremism and terrorism and dry up terror finances, lauding Saudi services to pilgrims and visitors of the holy sites
Al Romaihi extended congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to the Saudi people on this national occasion.
The minister wished Saudi Arabia further progress and prosperity to continue landmark development and crucial contributions towards strengthening tolerance and moderate Islam teachings.
