Damascus - Ghaith Hamor

Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakherji has finshed filming her scenes in the new series Yasmine Atiq. The programme is directed by Muthanna Sobh, written by Radwan Shibley and produced by Syria International Company. Fawakherji plays the role of Safia Alusi, a Damascene woman defying the authority of Aghas in the Levant and her husband. Fawakherji told Arabstoday: “Yasmine Atiq offers a different vision of the Levant. It raises new issues with regards to women and their relationship with a society which expects them to stay at home to give birth and care for children. It introduces strong and ambitious female character, which closely reflects real life in Levant.” The series stars Ghassan Massoud, Salma al-Masri, Shokran Murtaja, Safa Sultan, Ali Karim, Ramiz Alaswad, Nawar Bulbul, Nuzor Abu Hajar, and others.
