Bahrain will host on December the finale and closing ceremony of the Bahrain International online Quran Recitation Competition, -the "Global Reciter", the biggest Holy Quran event, to be held His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's patronage on December 19.
In a statement, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr. Farid bin Yaqoob Al-Meftah said that the competition would coincide with the kingdom's celebrations of the National and Accession Days.
He extended sincere congratulations to HM King Hamad, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, and the Bahraini people, wishing the kingdom further security and welfare.
He said that the Ministry's initiative to launch a Bahraini unique online Holy Quran Recitation competition that brings together reciters from all over the world was blessed by HM the King.
He explained that the competition, in which reciters from all age groups are participating, aims to serve the Holy Quran and consolidate the kingdom's leading efforts in the field of e-Government.
He asserted that the competition had attracted numerous sponsors ever since it was first announced, lauding the pivotal role played by the e-Government Authority for providing technical support in recording the recitation of competitors.
He added that the contest had attracted thousands of reciters worldwide, noting that the Holy Quran Affairs Directorate has set up a jury comprising an elite of experts.
He said that preparations from the closing ceremony and the finale had been completed, adding that the first five competitors will compete during the final contest leading to the Global Reciter.
The closing ceremony will also feature a documentary about the competition, a speech by the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, statements by the participants, announcements of results and the honouring of the winners, partners and sponsors.
