3+ Switzerland to launch HD channel

Switzerland's largest commercial broadcaster 3+ will simulcast its channel in high-definition from 5 June 2012. 3+ HD will be available in the whole German-speaking part of Switzerland on the cable network of UPC Cablecom. Through the move, viewers will be able to watch US series, movies and new episodes of original productions such as "Bauer, ledig, sucht", "Bumann, der Restauranttester" or "Der Bachelor" in high resolution. For the HD launch, 3+ is currently replacing its whole transmission technology. At the same time, all advertising trailers and design elements will be produced in HD.
