Egyptian journalist and television host Khairy Ramadan has invited British founder of The New Arab Debates, Tim Sebastian on his television show. The British media expert is expected to appear on Ramadan's programme Momken, which is broadcast on Egyptian satellite channel CBC, at 2200 hrs on Wednesday night. Sebastian will provide an insight into the Western perception of the Islamic rule in both Egypt and Tunisia. He will also touch on his expectations for the future of Egypt, and the potential clashes between the ruling authority and the media. Before taking over as host of The New Arab Debates, Sebastian was BBC foreign correspondent for over a 30-year period. He is perhaps best known for being the first host of the BBC’s flagship interview programme Hardtalk – for which he was twice named Interviewer of the Year by the Royal Television Society. Sebastian has also won the Society’s Television Journalist of the Year award, as well as a British Academy award for contributions to factual television. He holds a BA in modern languages from Oxford University and is the author of eight novels and two non-fiction titles.
