The leader of the Sadat Democratic Party has welcomed Qatar's decision to shut down AlJazeera Mubasher Misr, seeing in it a victory to the Egyptian regime.
The decision also reflects strong Egyptian-Gulf relations, said Effat Sadat Tuesday.
It also deals a painful blow to the Muslim Brotherhood group, Sadat added.
Sadat still rejected any move to release AlJazeera journalists currently being tried in Egypt in return for the closure of the provocative channel.
