The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), organisers of the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports, has approved 30 research papers for the second edition of the award, which takes place next month (December).
General Secretary of the award Dr Abdulrahman Sayyar said the final arbitration of the submitted researches are scheduled for early December and these researches will be announced at the awards ceremony that will take place later in the same month.
The qualified researches, prepared by a group of participants from around the Arab region, will be looked into by a purpose-formed scientific committee, comprising Dr Mohammed Sobhi Hassanein of Egypt, Dr hmed Al Sharif of the UAE, Dr Sari Hamdan of Jordan, Dr Hazza Al Hazza of Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain’s Sayyar.
Sayyar said the General Secretariat has received 30 research projects from 12 Arab countries, while 60 arbitrators will participate in research arbitration in the preliminary and final stages of arbitration. The Secretariat's efforts continue to prepare for the closing ceremony of the second edition of the award.
Meanwhile, Sayyar returned from Kuwait where he attended the Second International Scientific Conference for sport sciences under the slogan (the Arabic sport between competition and practice).
The conference was opened by Dr Muhamad Abdulatif Al Fares, minister of higher education, minister of commerce and industry, vice minister of juvenile affairs Khaled Naser Al Roudhan.
An elite of sport highlights and physical education scholars from 17 Arab countries and 6 from overseas countries participated in 250 scientific research papers and 8 sport seminars.
The Kuwait event was an opportunity for Sayyar to promote Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award, which aims to strengthen the relationship and exchange of expertise between the Kingdom of Bahrain youth and their peers from around the world, and spread the spirit of the competitiveness to create a positive worldwide competition among the participants.
