British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) has appointed Dr Christopher Ray as its new principal. Dr Ray, who has a doctorate in History and the Philosophy of Physics, was the high master at The Manchester Grammar School for the past eight years. He is also the chairman of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference, a professional association of principals from 250 of the world's leading independent schools. In a letter to parents, Julie Richards, chairman of BSAK's board of governors, said: "[Dr Ray] will be a fitting successor to Paul Coackley, whose inspirational leadership during the past seven years has brought the school to its current highly respected position."
