Kuwaiti students were not harmed in the fires that erupted in Western Australia state, said Kuwaiti Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand Khalid Al-Shibani.Al-Shibani told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) in a phone call on Monday that the embassy is constantly in contact with Kuwait's Cultural Office to check on the Kuwaiti students in the state's capital Perth, adding that the fires are far away from the city.Kuwait's Embassy in Canberra, the capital of Australia, will deal with any emergency case that Kuwaitis may face, he noted.The fires which hit Australia's west coast destroyed over 20 houses yesterday, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in the past two days. More than 100 firemen, accompanied by water-spraying airplanes, had participated in fighting the fires in Parkerville 35 km from Perth on Sunday.
