A teacher jumped to his death from a bridge in Brisbane, Australia, holding his 2-year-old son in his arms, police said. Jason Lees, 40, and 2-year-old Brad Lees both died in the fall from the Story Bridge early Monday, The Courier-Mail of Brisbane reported. The newspaper said Lees and his wife, Danielle, had been having marital trouble. Marlene Stephens said she saw Lees crying on the back steps of his home last year, the newspaper reported. "I remember the little boy came down and wrapped his arms around him -- I'm always going to remember that image," Stephens told the newspaper. "Life's cruel. Only he knows why he did it. He was a lovely guy, a nice guy -- you could tell." Lees was a teacher at Anglican Church Grammar in Brisbane and was internationally known as a rugby referee. He was born in Canada and moved to Australia about 15 years ago.
