Following the royal directives to support the Syrian refugees and their children and in line with a royal order to set up an educational complex for the Syrian refugee students and the directives of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Board of Trustees Chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in this regard, a delegation, led by RCO Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, paid a visit to Jordan where coordination was made to build the complex for 4000 Syrian students, including four mobile schools at Zaatari Camp with a capacity to accommodate 1000 students each. The schools will have various facilities like stadiums and a library. At a meeting yesterday with Jordanian Education Ministry Secretary General Satam Awad, Dr. Al-Sayed discussed ways of implementing the Bahraini royal donation. The Education Ministry will cooperate with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in running the schoos. The ministry will take charge of putting curricular and educational criteria while UNICEF will supervise the educational process to ensure quality. The RCO Secretary General also met Ayman Riyadh Al Meflah, Secretary General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), the executive party of the project which is hoped to be completed in one month. He also discussed with UNICEF coordinator to Jordan Dominique Hyde the organisational procedures to administer the schools and curricular as well as coordinate with relevant parties in charge of implementing the project for both primary and intermediate levels. He also met Planning and International Cooperation Minister Jafar Abdul Hassan, who is in charge of running the affairs of the Syrians in Jordan. The minister praised the royal donation, lauding brotherly cooperation between Bahrain and Jordan. He also invited Dr. Al-Sayed to attend a special meeting under the theme "Joint Rescue Call between the United Nations and Representatives of the Arab Countries". The aim of the joint call is to ask for support from the international community to the Jordanian government to enable it to provide the needed services for the Syrian brethren in Jordan in light of the growing number of Syrian refugees. The RCO Secretary General voiced pride when the Planning and International Cooperation Minister hailed in front of international rescue officials HM the King's immediate response in ordering the setting up of the complex for the Syrian refugee children. The royal initiative was also praised by ambassadors and officials who conveyed the greetings of the Jordanian monarch to HM the King, the government of Bahrain and people. Dr. Al-Sayed extended thanks to HM the King, HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, the RCO Board of Trustees Chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and all supportive sides.
