DNA tests should determine whether skeletal remains found in neighboring Illinois last month are those of a missing Indiana University coed, police said. Capt. Joseph Qualters of the Bloomington, Ind., police department said every time a body is found authorities seek to determine whether the victim is Lauren Spierer of Edgemont, N.Y., The Daily Scarsdale reported Wednesday. Spierer vanished in the early hours of June 3 after a night of partying at a sports bar in Bloomington. She was 20 years old at the time of her disappearance. "We are interested in all unidentified bodies as part of our investigation but the body in Illinois holds no more or less promise for now than any of the several others that have come to our attention over the last 10 months," Qualters said. Qualters told the Indianapolis Star detectives have inquired about at least 10 bodies found in Indiana and the neighboring area since Spierer disappeared. Results on the skeletal remains found in Illinois are expected later this month.
