The number of university students is about one million male and female students and the teaching staff nearly 42,000 in the academic year 1430 / 1431H. In addition, 33,000 schools for boys and girls are currently accommodating more than 5 million students. They are helped in their academic studies by 482,000 male and female teachers. In the scope of support and attention paid by the King to the education sector, the Cabinet approved in its session in 1428H. King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Project for the Development of Public Education to be implemented at a cost of SR 9 billion over a period of six years.
