The Kuwait Cabinet adopted Monday the Ministry of Education's proposal to provide grants for teachers who wish to complete higher studies overseas for one of the disciplines set forth by the ministry. The adoption of this proposal, the details of which would be announced later, stems from the ministry's keenness for the significant role played by Kuwaiti teachers and to encourage them to develop the educational process, Minister of Finance and acting Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf said on Monday told KUNA after the weekly meeting of the Cabinet. On the other hand, the Minister announced the Cabinet's adoption of a memorandum of the Ministry of Higher Education on supporting enrollment of the scholarship student in the professional qualification exams according to the different disciplines, adding that details and conditions would be announced later. Furthermore, Al-Hajraf also announced a scholarship program for Kuwaiti students of high school graduates or equivalent who get accepted for undergraduate study from one of the most 100 prestigious universities in the world. The minister said told KUNA that this measure which was adopted by the Council of Ministers today came on the instructions of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah. He explained that the Ministry of Higher Education will soon announce the mechanism of taking advantage of this program.
