His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Thursday visited the headquarters of the conference on Arab Knowledge Report 2010-11. The event was organised in Dubai by the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) in partnership with ministries of education in the UAE, Jordan, Morocco and Yemen. Adel Al Shared, Managing Director and Vice-Chairman of MBRF, briefed Shaikh Mohammad on the agenda of discussion panels which took place during sessions of the March 14-15 conference, including the report on ‘Preparing Future Generations for the Knowledge Society'. Shaikh Mohammad praised the Foundation's leading role and tireless efforts for promoting and deepening the culture of knowledge among young Arab and Muslim generations. He affirmed that "civilisation and progress of our peoples will not be achieved without a culture of knowledge and conducting of Arab and Islamic studies which aim at delivering of knowledge to our peoples and communities in all fields of science and life''. MBRF said the release of the report is part of its efforts to continue its mission to reinforce the Arab and national efforts to build a society and economy of knowledge as a basic source of Arab reformation and development.
