Mongolian parliament speaker Z. Enkhbold said on Monday that the country will pay more attention on education and create more favorable conditions for its development. Addressing an opening ceremony of new semester in Mongolian University for Science and Technology, Enkhbold said Mongolian parliament attached great importance to the country's higher education. He said the parliament has been organizing the "educational reform training course" for universities and colleges every year and in 2011 some 50,000 students finished their study in the training course. The speaker also said the government had decided to build a college town for educational institutions in order to provide more favorable conditions for their further development. Mongolia has been investing heavily in national education, with the education budget accounting for 20 percent of the government's general spending in 2012. Thanks to mining boom, Mongolian economy realized rapid growth in recent years. The government was encouraged to invest more money into higher education so that universities and colleges can foster more talents to meet the needs of economic development.
