President of Jala Islamic University in Thailand Dr Ismail Lutfi Javakia has highly evaluated the support HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani provided for the construction of the teaching hospital of the (the founder) Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani in Salam Fatani city in the Thai State of Jala. Praising the effort exerted by the State of Qatar in service of Islam and Muslims worldwide, Sheikh Lutif told reporters that the project of the hospital is a welfare gesture by Qatar and a support for the drive of peace and development. He added that the hospital, which will serve the people of south Thailand and others, will be the first Islamic hospital in the country and will fulfill the needs of Muslims in the region, referring in this respect to the availability of over 500 Muslim doctors and nurses working with the Red Crescent Society for doctors and health services, which will run the hospital under the supervision of Jala Islamic University. Sheikh Lutfi explained that 10 per cent of the hospital's project has been completed, expecting the completion of the hospital's all facilities within two years He said that the university will work during the coming period to implement the Nursing and Health Science College to serve the health projects in Thailand . He pointed out that Muslims in Thailand are proud over the building of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani university which bears the name of one of the prominent Muslim scholars, the founder of the State Modern Qatar. In the same regard, Khalid bin Shaheen Al Ghanim, Director of Islamic Affairs at the Ministry Awqaf and Islamic Affairs handed over the President of Jala University a check for USD 2mn, which is the second installment to support the hospital project which cost is USD 7mn.
