Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received here today the Undersecretary for Resources and Services at the Education Ministry Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, in the presence of the Ministry of Culture’s Cultural Maintenance Dr. Ala’a Al-Habshi. They discussed the kingdom’s cultural heritage in the fields of public and private education, pointing out to the project to renovate Al-Hedaya Al Khalifiya School, where public education was officially launched for the first time in 1919. Shaikha Mai praised the project as a means to document a key phase of the kingdom’s history, expressing desire to include the Khadija Al-Kubra School in the project because it was the first venue where girls’ education started in the country in 1928. On his part, Shaikh Hesham expressed pride in the existing cooperation between the Culture and Education ministries, commending the efforts of the Culture Ministry to preserve the kingdom’s cultural heritage.
