Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) has held a leadership training program for 50 youths who belong to ROTA''s Youth Service Clubs. The four-day program enhances Qatar''s role as a world pioneer in organizing community youth projects. ROTA''s leadership training of the Youth Service Clubs is an educational and interactive program for high school and university students aged 14 - 24. The training included students participating in the ROTA''s clubs for the first time. These students were provided with the skills and abilities necessary to become leaders of change, and were encouraged to show their leadership skills in an ideal educational and training environment. The program included intensive workshops and seminars focused on practical skills of leadership, teamwork, project management, in addition to conversation skills. ROTA Director Essa Al Mannai said that the annual program provides new members of Rota''s Youth Service Clubs with the opportunity to learn leadership in addition to communicating with them and workingas one team so as to benefit from the various skills. "The leadership training supports youths to become effective change elements and open the way for them to change their world for the better through education, creating opportunities and community service," Al Mannai said. The training program sought to provide the participants with the skills, knowledge and abilities needed for work in three major fields; leadership, service learning and global citizenship. The five previous training programs saw 275 youths participate and 13 youth service clubs open under the sponsorship of Vodafone Qatar who is currently organizing several community initiatives. ROTA''s Youth Service Clubs aim to educate, engage and encourage students to participate in voluntary work and community service in and out of Qatar.
