Around 300 teams of schoolchildren are vying to represent the UAE in the World Robot Olympiad to be held in November in Malaysia, the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) announced in a statement. The schoolchildren are up against one another in the National Robot Challenge, which will select 19 teams from across the UAE. The national contest is being sponsored by the Adec. So far, schools in Abu Dhabi city and Al Ain have already presented their entries. Contests will soon be organised in Al Gharbia (Western Region) and the Northern Emirates, the Adec statement added.
