The 20-year-old Englishman charged with killing an Indian university student gave his first name as "Psycho" during a brief court appearance Monday. Kiaran Stapleton was ordered held pending a hearing Tuesday in Manchester Crown Court, The Daily Telegraph reported. He has been charged with the murder of Anuj Bidve, 23, in the early hours of Boxing Day, Dec. 26. Security was tight in the magistrate's court, and Stapleton remained handcuffed throughout the hearing. Asked to confirm his name, he responded, "Psycho. Psycho Stapleton." Bidve, a graduate student in micro-electronics at Lancaster University, had come to Manchester with friends for the Christmas break. Witnesses said two men approached him, there was a brief conversation and one man pulled out a gun. Vikrant Gupta, who organized a candlelight vigil for Bidve, wrote on Facebook: "He was killed for not answering a simple question: what's the time? Did he deserve this? Did his family deserve such pain and such loss?"
