Students at schools around the Kingdom are in gear for the 2013 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix after Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) mascot Speedy paid them a visit.Speedy led a team of BIC personnel at separate promotional visits to the Middle East School, Sehla, and St Christopher’s Senior School, Isa Town, in the build-up to the Bahrain GP that takes place next weekend on April 19-20-21 at the Sakhir circuit.The popular mascot, dressed in his signature white race suit, raised the profile of the upcoming event and spoke to the youngsters about the range of fun and engaging entertainment acts that have been lined up for the three-day spectacle.Speedy also posed in photographs with the kids and delighted them when he handed out brochures, posters, t-shirts, caps, badges, stickers and other race memorabilia.Students at both schools learned about various aspects of motoring, including safety precautions related to racing, techniques used in various races, and facts and figures about the equipment used at BIC, "the Home of Motorsport in the Middle East."The visits formed part of BIC’s ongoing national promotion campaign to keep fans excited about Bahrain’s biggest sport and entertainment weekend.
