Dubai's second largest private education provider, Taaleem, is set to open two new schools — an International Baccalaureate school and a kindergarten — in the new academic year this September. Taaleem, which means education in Arabic, has already established six schools and two nurseries in Dubai and Abu Dhabi since 2005. The Children's Garden, which operates a facility in The Green Community, Dubai Investments Park and on Jumeira Road, will open its latest addition in Al Barsha 2, in close proximity to the Al Barsha Mall and Mall of the Emirates. The Children's Garden Barsha will deliver the International Curriculum for Languages and Creative Arts (ICLCA), a structured and progressive kindergarten programme for children from two to six years old. Situated on a six hectares plot in Mirdif, Uptown School, sister school of Uptown Primary School, will feature large classrooms with natural light and an array of facilities such as two multi-purpose sports halls, a 400 metre Olympic standard running track, two full size football grounds, two swimming pools, KG outdoor and indoor playgrounds, play areas, libraries, learning resource and media centres, among many other facilities. The International Baccalaureate curriculum addresses the unique learning needs for each stage of a child's intellectual and emotional development. The new campus will open in different phases, starting with Pre-K to KG 2 in September 2012, followed by Grade 1 to Grade 8 in September 2013 and higher grades from 2014 onwards.
