As part of its efforts to increase career and job market awareness among the youth, Tamkeen published the 10th issue of “Discover Life After School” Magazine, which comes as part of Tamkeen’s objective to push the private sector to become the engine to fuels economic development and growth. This edition is the latest one of the “Discover Life After School” series of magazines, which was first introduced in 2011, as part of Tamkeen’s “Discover Life @ Work” Career Market Awareness Project. The magazine targets students and youth, with each edition distributed free-of-charge to secondary schools and universities across Bahrain. In each edition, one particular key and critical sector within the national economy is selected to form the theme for topics discussed within the magazine, which are written in a simplified language that appeals to the youth. In the magazine, the reader is given an understanding of how this specific sector works within the Kingdom, and the needed skills and capabilities needed in order to succeed within this sector. This is intended to allow the youth to collect valuable information that allows them to select the career path most optimal for their desires, in addition to showcasing how to prepare themselves in order to enter this particular sector and contribute overall to building the national economy. In this edition, a variety of interesting topics are discussed that are relevant to school life, and in this edition specifically, the insurance sector is highlighted, a sector which is considered to be amongst the fastest growing in the Kingdom, and requires a constantly growing talent pool with a specialised set of skills. In it, the reader is given insight into how to get experience within the insurance sector, as well as featuring first-hand experiences of youth who have been able to get specialised certificates, workshops, and training seminars, all within the sector, through Tamkeen’s support, which has given them the opportunity to develop further and continue to progress their careers. In addition to being able to acquire the magazine through schools and the universities, the magazine is also available through dedicated stands in shopping malls throughout the Kingdom. The magazine can also be accessed electronically by visiting the website discoverlife.
