In line with its drive to develop the capabilities of Bahrain’s private sector and enable Bahraini graduates and job seekers to become employees of choice, Tamkeen supported 17 Bahraini enterprises and businesses with a support value of BD 57,000 to participate at the 2nd Bahrain Education and Training International Exhibition (EDUTEX) through its “Tarweej” scheme, one of the many business support schemes under its flagship Enterprise Development Support Programme. The event boasts 86 education and Training providers from the region and around the world encompassing various fields such as Business, Aviation, Medicine, Engineering and Social Sciences. In addition to Bahrain, countries represented include UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, France, Australia, China, Switzerland, Malaysia, United Kingdom and USA. The event strengthens Bahrain’s position as a regional hub for world-class training and education. In addition, it provides students and professionals with a valuable opportunity to learn how they can further their education, enhance their skills, and progress their careers through a wide range of choices that cater to a broad cross-section of individuals and fields. Commenting on this announcement, Mohammed Bucheeri, Tamkeen’s Senior Manager for Private Sector Support, said: “We are fully committed to developing our human capital through high-standard training opportunities. This event will not only showcase the strength of Bahrain’s educational and training sector through our “Tarweej” beneficiaries, but also give Bahrainis the opportunity to learn about all the accredited certifications they can obtain through our Professional Certification Support scheme. This dual benefit makes this event one of the most important events of the year that focuses on human resources development and education.” The “Tarweej” scheme is designed to support the development and sustainability of enterprises in Bahrain by expanding the outreach of their products and services through local, regional, and international exhibitions. Since its launch, Tamkeen provided around BD 3.5 Million of support to 1700 businesses to participate in more than 275 exhibitions and events. All eligible enterprises in Bahrain may benefit from the scheme, but need to apply one month in advance of the desired event. More than 4,500 enterprises in Bahrain have benefited from Tamkeen’s Enterprise Development Support Programme to date, which in addition to “Tarweej” also includes “Istishara” to assist in the strategic planning and determining vision and goals of the organization, the “Techania” to provide support for the purchase of latest enterprise-related tools and equipment, “Jawda” to assist in the design and application of world-class quality standards, “Tasweeq” to provide support in the design and implementation of effective marketing and communications strategies, and the Large Enterprises Support Scheme which allows large enterprises to acquire industrial machinery and technology.
