Five men accused of kicking and punching eight boys appeared in the Christiana Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, North West police said. Brigadier Thulane Ngubane said the boys' teachers, Daniel Morewa Lentshwe, 25, and Thabiso William Mbityekana, 27, were arrested on Thursday morning. Two policemen Fickson Mogale, 30, and Samson Lizwe, 34, and 22-year-old caretaker Thabang Phepeng were arrested on Friday. The teachers were granted bail of R1 000 each. Phepeng was released on a warning. The case was postponed until June 21 for further investigation. The teachers and the caretaker allegedly assaulted the boys, aged between seven and 13, on May 6. They accused them of breaking into their house. The boys were also allegedly beaten by the policemen while being held at the police station.
