The Prime Ministry indicated, Thursday, that rumours which have circulated during the last two days on the government's plans to abandon the decision to create a faculty of medicine in Medenine, are unfounded, reasserting the government's attachment to implement this project, in line with the recommendations of the cabinet meeting held November 21, 2013. The Prime Ministry informs, in a statement, all citizens and particularly inhabitants of Medenine, that it has already started taking practical measures to implement the project. In this connection, the statement specifies that the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Information and Communication Technology has entrusted a team from the General Directorate of Buildings and Public Works to choose the land that will host the faculty of medicine among three public lands. The Prime Ministry calls on citizens and all the components of the civil society not to give in to rumours and inaccurate information and seek to strengthen social cohesion. The statement calls on Tunisians to foster the culture of labour and construction to meet the expectations of the Tunisian people for social stability and economic progress.
