A university students political mainstream urged the Tehran officials to start revising Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency after the UN body impaired Iran's trust and confidence in its proper and fair functioning by releasing a biased report against Iran merely on the basis of the US allegations. The Iranian university students' Office for Consolidating Unity (Daftar-e Tahkim-e Vahdat) in a statement on Monday censured the IAEA for releasing a "false and irresponsible" report on Iran's peaceful nuclear program, and reiterated that the IAEA move has left Tehran with no option but reviewing its membership in the UN body unless it revises its course of action in dealing with Tehran and rapidly starts rebuilding Iran's trust. "The report released by IAEA Director-General Yukiya Amano on the Islamic Republic's nuclear activities is false and irresponsible and issued in an atmosphere which has been fully influenced by the world powers to complete the global hegemonic system's histrionics against the Islamic Republic of Iran," the statement said. The students organization also underlined that the report indicates the West's desperate and helpless situation in the confrontation against the Islamic Republic of Iran as it attempts to divert the public opinion from the world realities through such hasty moves. The statement urged the Iranian officials to adopt a steadfast and firm position against the western countries' lies and propaganda, and called on them to study Tehran's withdrawal from the IAEA. The statement came days after Israel and the United States dictated a report to Amano on Iran to find a pretext for intensifying war rhetoric on the Islamic Republic. Once the report was released, not only Iran, but also many world states, including Russia, China and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) member states, strongly rejected it and blasted the UN nuclear watchdog chief for acting as a White House proxy. Iran also said that it would not budge "an iota" from its peaceful atomic activities. Israel and its close ally the United States accuse Iran of seeking a nuclear weapon, while they have never presented any corroborative document to substantiate their allegations. Both Washington and Tel Aviv possess advanced weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear warheads. Iran vehemently denies the charges, insisting that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry.
