Minister of Higher Education Bader al-Issa
Kuwait - KUNA

The Ministry of Education has started a plan aiming to develop the curricula of Arabic language and religion subjects for presenting better methods for students, Minister Bader Al-Issa said.
After a meeting with a visiting delegation of Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), he underlined in a press statement the importance of curricula of these two subjects as they have much influence on the ideology of students and their beliefs at present and in the future.
He noted that he had discussed with the delegation, headed by Abdulaziz Othman Al-Tuwaijri and in the presence of Secretary-General of Kuwait's National Commission for UNESCO Abdullatif Al-Buaijan, several issues relating to violence and terrorism as well as misinterpretations by extremists of verses of Holy Qur'an.
On his part, Al-Tuwaijri said that ISESCO needs now further efforts to provide necessary support in light of these serious circumstances and growing extremism that attracts youth.
He underscored the necessity of combating terrorism and extremism, and fortifying youth by recruiting them to contribute to development instead of being involved in destructive projects that affcet badly many countries.
Developing minds to respect others as well religious and cultural diversity is one of the key objectives of the ISESCO, he noted.
