Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Nayef Al-Hajraf inaugurated here Monday a seminar on challenges facing world educational improvement. The seminar is part of ongoing efforts to overhaul educational methods at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Kuwait University and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, the minister said during the event. He said the teacher was the cornerstone of educational development, arguing that no educational system could be revamped unless all the needs of the teacher are met. The best curricula and facilities could be made available but they mean nothing unless efficient and qualified teachers are available, he noted. Therefore, the Ministries of Education and Higher Education were very interested in professional empowerment and output revamp, he pointed out. The minister also stressed the necessity of developing curricula by focusing on quality, rather than quantity. Furthermore, he pointed to creating a congenial educational environment, boosting the family's significant role and spurring the private sector to support educational development.
