With so many educational degrees and career options available today, pupils often find it difficult to decide which path to take for their future. To help them decide, the Pristine Private School in Al Nahda, which follows a British-based curriculum, held its first Education and Career Day yesterday for its more than 1,200 pupils. "We want to establish a working partnership with higher education establishments, universities and colleges and to give our pupils a route into higher education, to improve their qualifications and give them an opportunity to be life-long learners and make a positive contribution to society," Peter Winder, school principal, told Gulf News. With the many new subjects that are coming out at present, it is best for pupils as well as parents to be aware of them, school authorities said. "We want to provide them an opportunity to find out about the new subjects that are coming in as well as those subjects and there are so many new opportunities that they have nowadays," said Aisha Ansari, vice-principal of the school. At least 13 universities from Dubai participated in the fair. Ansari said this could help parents and pupils decide whether they should take up higher education here or abroad.
