Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and Dar AlDiafa for Hospitality and Tourism Education Consultancy (DDHTEC) signed a cooperation agreement in the field of tourism education with a special focus on tourism and hospitality professional development and capacity building projects for tourism businesses.
The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Special Ambassador and TAG-Org's Chairman HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh stated: "TAG-Org is pleased to partner with DDHTEC in this vital field which needs a new strategy due to the important role it plays in the economy of every country. Our work with DDHTEC will focus on developing the skills of those working in this field and at the same time utilize the development in the ICT sector to assist tourism globally."
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh who chaired the UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development (UNGAID) believes that there are so many ways which can contribute to the development and promotion of tourism on the national, regional and global levels through the ICT sector.
Meanwhile, Suzy Hatough, DDHTEC director said: "This MoU represents a strong base in the field of tourism and provide new aspects for the development of companies and organizations working in this vital field. The competitiveness in this field is big and that is why there is a need for more educational programs. We are honored to be part of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh's vision for a better future in tourism."
According to the MoU, the two parties will cooperate in developing Entrepreneurship Skills in Tourism, Hospitality and handicrafts, focus on new trends in E-Tourism and digital platforms, Tourism Product Development, Tourism Ethics in Communication Skills in addition to others.
The two parties will establish a joint team of experts for identifying and considering jointly undertaking future business opportunities falling within the fields of tourism education.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh has embarked on a mission to establish and implement a new strategy for the tourism sector worldwide with a special focus on enriching this crucial sector which employs tenth of the working force and responsible for the tenth of the GDP in the developed countries with high-skilled professionals and solid infrastructure.
Through music and Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra), Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh was able to introduce several concerts held in the Red Rose City of Petra which received admiration by diplomatic missions and tourists.
