The Police College received Saturday the first batch of students for the 2014/2015 academic year.
The 130 students are from Qatar and other Arab countries. They will get a bachelor in law and police science degree after finishing a four-year course.
The students were received by the General Manager of the college, Brigadier Dr Mohamed Abdulla Al Mohanna and Director of Technical Office of the Minister of Interior Brig. Badr Ibrahim Al Ghanim, director of Strategic Planning Department of the Ministry of Interior and Member of Supreme Council of Police College Col. Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti.
Talking to reporters, Brigadier Mohammed Al Marri underscored the keenness of the Qatari leadership on establishing such security edifice to serve the community and enhance safety and security in the country.
He highlighted the importance attached to the Police College as a result of the great efforts made by the Supreme Council of the College, chaired by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani who gave instructions to ensure the availability of best experts in police science and law in the college.
He added that the college represents a true translation of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and in particular the strategy of the Ministry of Interior, which aims to increase its human resources by qualified officers who work on the prevention and control of crime in accordance with the Qatari law and constitution.
