Qatar University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Addleshaw Goddard, an international law firm to establish legal internships and to become part of Qatar University’s growing legal education programme. A number of high-profile personalities attended the event today. Dean of Qatar University's College of Law Dr. Hassan Okour and Addleshaw Goddard's Senior Partner Monica Burch signed the agreement. The event also marked the inauguration of Addleshaw Goddard's Doha office. Okour said upon signing the agreement that Qatar University's College of Law was consistently after establishing relationships with legal institutions, whether private and public. He added that the college was always looking for opportunities to collaborate with pioneering lawyers to enrich the teaching experience and give the students the chance to learn more about law. For her part, Burch said that Addleshaw Goddard gave a high priority to its long-term relationships, whether with clients or the communities where the firm is practicing. She added that the firm was committed to the vision of HH the Emir as set in the Qatar National Vision 2030, by supporting the human development pillar. She also expressed her delight with inaugurating the firm's Doha office. The agreement provides QU students the opportunity to intern at Addleshaw Goddard's offices for four months. The firm offers specialist expertise in the fields of Construction, Projects, Corporate, Finance, Arbitration, Renewable Energy, Private Wealth Management and Litigation. Head of Addleshaw Goddard Qatar Office Hussein Abdul Hamid Damirji spoke of his excitement at the future prospects of the State of Qatar and his pride in Addleshaw Goddard’s sincere dedication to building roots in the country. Addleshaw Goddard first opened an office in the GCC region in September 2012 with the launch of its Dubai office, the second office in the region opened in Oman in January 2013.
