The Education Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Humaid Mohammed Al Qattami, received here today the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri. During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest and the efforts made by ISESCO to promote education in the Member States, foster qualification institutions, as well as develop training centers and diversify their programmes. They also reviewed means of boosting scientific research, identifying priority areas and utilizing findings to achieve sustainable development in the Islamic world. For his part, the UAE minister commended ISESCO for its effort to promote strategic planning, education, science and communication in the Islamic world, and for working in earnest to strengthen relations between member states and ensure coordination between its specialized organs for optimal fulfillment of the objectives desired. Al Qattami also said his country supports the Organization in its areas of competence, especially in promoting communication with relevant regional and international organizations, according to a press release issued by ISESCO this morning.
