Yarmouk University President, Rifaat Faouri, on Wednesday, discussed with Singapore's non-resident Ambassador to Jordan, Shamsher Zaman, ways to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between Yarmouk University and various Singaporean academic institutions.
During the meeting, Faouri stressed the importance of deepening academic cooperation with Singaporean universities, as they enjoy high scientific reputation.
He praised the role of Singapore’s embassy in securing scholarships for a number of Yarmouk university students to pursue their masters and PhD degrees in various disciplines, as well as training a number of technicians and professional workers in Singapore.
Faouri said the university is ready to receive Singaporean students, who wish to learn Arabic at Yarmouk University’s Arabic Language Center.
Ambassador Zaman expressed readiness to enhance cooperation between universities in Singapore and Yarmouk University. He also praised the University's high scientific reputation in the Arab world and the region, due to its excellent academic programs.
