Assistant Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women, Dhawiyah Al-Alawi received this morning Dr. Jameela Mahmoud who won Isa Award for Service to Humanity, on the occasion of her visit to Kingdom of Bahrain to present a lecture entitled "Role of the Civil Community Institutions in the Management of Risks and Disasters. At the beginning of the meeting, Assistant Secretary General welcomed Dr. Jameela Mahmoud and wished her good stay in the Kingdom, pointing out her prominent role and several contributions in serving humanity as well as her keenness on showing a civilized and true image of the Muslim Women. The Assistant Secretary General also asserted Dr. Jameela’s role in spreading the culture of volunteering work outside the national borders, highlighting its impact in the area of solidarity between communities in the service of humanity without discrimination or geographic considerations. During the meeting, there was also a streamlined visual presentation for the most prominent works of the Supreme Council for Women led by the Wife of HM the King, Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa. There was also an explanation for the outcomes of the national plan to elevate the Bahraini Women, as well as the vision of the Council which is based on the equal partnership to establish a sustainable competitive society. For her part, Dr. Jameela lauded the efforts of the Supreme Council for Women chaired by the Wife of HM the King, Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa considering it as one of the pillars of the reform project of HM the King. Dr. Jameela also highlighted that the Supreme Council for Women’s establishment was the key driver of the Bahraini Women to attain the highest degree of decision making, and accomplish several achievements which contribute in presenting an honourable image for a great march. It is worth mentioning, that Dr. Jameela Mahmoud established the organization of "Mercy Malaysia" with other four volunteers, who used their private money to start a journey which changed their lives. This organization is considered one among the very few international civil organizations working in the south of the world, and is mainly concerned with providing medical relief, and the development related to sustainable health, and the activities of alleviating risks in the weak communities in times of crises and ordinary conditions alike. During few years, the organization attained the attention of the world and the people after devoting itself for the service of humanity, where a lot of Malaysians and non-Malaysians joined it, aiming at serving the needy regardless of their gender, religion, culture or geographic regions.
