The event will be held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) on October 15-16,2014.
The forum will focus on the main economic challenges faced by GCC businesswomen, enhance cooperation among GCC them and shed light on male and female entrepreneurs in GCC countries, said FGCCC Secretary-General Abdulraheem Naqi during a press conference held today at Beit Al Tijjar.
He pointed out that Bahrain was chosen to host the event in recognition of the advanced strides made by Bahraini women in various fields and at all levels, stressing the crucial role played by Bahraini women in the country’s economic and social development.
CEO of BCCI Nabeel Al-Mahmoud said the second edition of the forum was held following the outstanding success of the first edition, hosted by Muscat, Oman, in 2012, with the participation of over 300 GCC business women.
He added that the event will highlight GCC businesswomen’s success stories and their growing role in their societies.
He said that the kingdom’s hosting of the second edition reflects the remarkable success of the Bahraini women and innumerable landmark achievements in various fields thanks to the constant support of HRH Princess Sabeeka.
He noted that Bahraini women represent 33% of the workforce in the public and private sectors. According to FGCCC’s statistics.
He stressed that the forum will provide a venue for GCC businesswomen to extend bridges of cooperation among each other and with their Arab and international counterparts.
