Dubai - WAM

A delegation from the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children DFWAC visited a number of international organizations and non-profit entities and refugee camps in Jordan recently, to discuss cooperation, share experiences and best practices in the field of care and protection for women and children.

The visit program included visiting each of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development, Princess Basma Development Centers, the Jordan River Foundation, and the Jordanian National Committee for Women's Affairs, Zaatari Refugee Camp, the UNHCR, the Emirati-Jordanian refugees camp, as well as the Children’s villages International (SOS villages).

Afra Al Basti, Federal National Council member, Director General of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, said: "the Foundation aims to strengthen its partnerships with the various entities that are concerned with the care of women and children, not only at the local level but also at the regional and international level, and this visit comes as part of our plan to achieve this target."

She added that choosing Jordan for this visit is due to the presence of many international projects and local programs related to women and children empowerment, in addition to the considerable efforts undertaken by the United Arab Emirates in support of our refugees brothers there, where the Foundation works to benefit from the experiences of these projects and explore the possibility of participating in and support.

Jawaher Al Dossari, Funding Director at DFWAC, praised the humanitarian efforts to protect and care for women and children in Jordan, especially the services provided by the UAE Red Crescent refugee camps, noting the importance of this visit in achieving cooperation and sharing expertise to contribute to developing the level of services provided to this category either within the Foundation or in the camps.

She added that the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children is pleased to offer its expertise to all those working in the care of women and children inside and outside the country especially with regard to the field of the psychological and social rehabilitation, stressing that all the entities are involved in one goal which is the welfare of the human and provide more stable and bonded society.
