Tehran - XINHUA

An argument at an Iron Bowl party in Alabama ended with one woman dead and another charged with murder, police said. Adrian Laroze Briskey, 28, of Birmingham, Ala., was being held in lieu of $75,000 bail, AL.com reported. The victim was Michelle Shepherd, 36, described as the mother of three children who worked with young parents. The women, who had apparently not met before, were at a party in Hoover for the Iron Bowl. The annual football game between the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn University Tigers is one of the biggest sports events in the state. Auburn defeated Alabama 34-28 on Saturday. Police and the victim's sister gave different accounts of what led to the shooting, AL.com reported. Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis said the women got into an argument after the game ended that turned physical in the building's parking lot. Neketa Shepherd denied that her sister was in a physical fight with Briskey. She described Briskey as drunk and angry and said the woman's friends were trying to get her home. She and her sister were joking about the Miami Heat and some of the other guests apparently took what they said the wrong way, describing them as not caring about Alabama. When they tried to leave, she said, people blocked their car in the lot, and they got out to ask them to get out of the way. The next thing she heard was shots, Neketa said. "She was like 10 feet away. My sister never touched her, and she never touched my sister,'' she told AL.com. "They never had words."
