Kuwait is participating in a winter charitable bazaar organized by the International Women's Club of Moscow (IWC) held here on Saturday.
Speaking to KUNA on the event, IWC Spokesperson Afrah Al-Fedaghi said the bazaar is purely a charitable event whose revenues are to be used for humanitarian activities purposed to fulfill the needs of children, patients and the needy.
"While we are carrying out charitable activities, we are inspired by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who is the humanitarian leader," she said.
She added that the State of Kuwait, which was named by the UN as a "Humanitarian Center", is a model to follow in view of charitable and humanitarian activities.
She highly commended the role of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Moscow in ensuring the success of the humanitarian event in the Russian capital.
Kuwait has a pavilion in the bazaar displaying Kuwaiti costumes, sweet, food dishes, various types of dates and perfumes.
The International Women's Club of Moscow is a not-for-profit organization which exists to promote friendship and co-operation between women and men of all nationalities, to further cultural activities among women of all nationalities residing in Moscow, and to raise funds to be donated to charitable activities.
The Winter Bazaar is a major contributor to the IWC's fundraising efforts.
