Desi Entertainers paid tribute to women from all walks of life in an event “Ladies Night — Tribute to the Women of Today.” Mohammad Al Mohammedi, founder of the committee, said the concept “Desi Entertainers — Committee for Community” is to introduce people from different cultures to each other, so that they socialize outside their community too. “Our hard work has paid off and we have really succeeded in our project,” he said. Desi Entertainers proved that despite a language barrier, women could easily convey their messages through their talent. “Talent doesn’t need any particular language as it has its own approach. Many talented women entertained the gathering with their cultural songs and dances, which varied from India to Spain, the Philippines to South Africa and Saudi Arabia,” he said. There was a fashion show supported by Mufti Abayas and jewelry displayed by Amrina Jewels. Apart from glamor and entertainment there was a ladies “bazaar” displaying and selling designer clothes, jewelry, paintings, antiques, homemade products, and others, with lots of food stalls offering delicious delicacies. Centrepoint was the main sponsor and Air Arabia and Al Faida Est. were co-sponsors. Special contributions came from Tabassum, Farzana Khaja, Amrina Qaisar, Nayela Batool and Nida Akhtar and the team of volunteers played a big part in the event’s success. This show wouldn’t be possible without Fareed Ali Khan, who dedicated valuable time in communicating and marketing the event. Faisal handled the sound, Ms. Faimida Fareed, wife of Desi Entertainers President Fareed Khaja, honored the chief guest. “I enjoyed a lot at the event and I wish to attend it again,” said painter and artist Juweriya Khatoon. “I really appreciate the performers and thank the organizers for organizing such a meaningful event, “she added. Effat University students were invited with their families for the evening. “We got the best talented ladies from different countries performing on one stage,” said Mohammad. From: Arab news
