UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Mia Farrow
New York - AFP

Actress Mia Farrow said Tuesday that a new UN peace mission for Central African Republic will "make a difference" by helping aid workers reach remote areas of the country.
"Everyone is very much looking forward to September when there will be peacekeepers," said Farrow, a UNICEF goodwill ambassador who just returned from her fourth visit to CAR.
"We can't look to them to eliminate the problem, but quell the killing and give humanitarian aid workers access.
"What I wish for is for humanitarian aid access to all the people so that they don't all die of starvation," she said.
A UN peace mission is due to begin deploying in the Central African Republic around September 15, taking over from African and French troops sent to stem sectarian violence.
"May they come and make a difference," Farrow told reporters. "They will make a difference wherever they are."
The star of "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Great Gatsby" described CAR citizens as "surely the most abandoned people on Earth" and made an appeal to give "Central African Republic the attention it deserves."
