The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) today reiterated its keen interest to reach excellency in the coming period. During the third meeting of its fourth session, chaired by the Vice President of the Supreme Council for women Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa, SWC said that it will review and evaluate process of the Plan to Implement the National Strategy of Upgrading Bahraini women for the years (2007 – 2012). SCW Secretary-General Hala Al Ansari said that the report of the Secretariat-General on the revision and evaluation of the national plan was approved during the meeting. The report contained the main challenges faced by SWC in its internal and external institutional work.Al Ansari added that SCW aims to enhance the mechanisms of communication with Society in order to be able to achieve its goals. She also said the SWC approved the Secretariat-General's report on the results of the first edition of its award for ministries and government bodies aiming to encourage them to implement the National Strategy to Upgrade Bahraini Women and the proposals to improve it through developing the criteria of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka's Award for Women Empowerment. SCW secretariat-General's proposals regarding the preparations for the Bahraini Women Day 2012, to be themed "Athletic women", were also reviewed on the sidelines of the meeting, said Al Ansari, adding that upgrading means of communication through the Internet and social networks and the inauguration of the new SWC website next February were also spotlighted.
