The Supreme Council of Women (SCW) continues to receive applications from contestants for the second version of Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa's Award for Voluntary Youth Work.

The initiative aims to boost and promote the spirit of voluntary work in Bahraini youth. Bahraini youth - both male or female - are invited to compete and participate in this award.

The SCW asserted the importance of this award which comes to spread and boost the concept of voluntary work and showcase its moral value as a national, humanitarian duty. The award also boosts the role of individuals and groups in achieving innovation, excellence, sustainability of voluntary work projects and promotes the spirit of competition and youth initiatives in distinctive projects geared to serve the society.

The award has been dedicated in the name of the late Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa to commemorate Her Highness's role and efforts in supporting voluntary philanthropic community work.

HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa had issued Royal Order 15/2011 for the creation of Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa's Award.
