The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Egypt Country Office has launched the global campaign “16 Days of Activism” in collaboration with the United Nations Information Center (UNIC).
Speaking at a press conference, UNIC’s Director Khawla Mattar spoke of the United Nations’ efforts and projects on the ground to eliminate violence against women in Egypt.
The press conference marked the commencement of various activities organized by UN Women in collaboration with different partners to celebrate the 16 days of activism.
The 16 days of activism is a UN Women global campaign that starts on November 25 which marks the International Day to End Violence against Women.
