A 35-year-old woman is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of a 5-year-old boy in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, police say. The names of the woman and the boy, who is the first homicide victim in Saskatoon this year, had not been released, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported. The relationship between the two and how the boy died also had not been revealed by police, the CBC said. The child was found in a Saskatoon home Saturday and pronounced dead of his injury at the scene. The (Saskatoon) Star Phoenix reported the woman was charged Saturday night. The newspaper said police said there were three other people in the home when officers arrived. They are related to each other.
