A Jordanian radio station has appointment women to host all their shows today, to mark International Women’s Day. The UNESCO-sponsored radio station, Jordan Network for Social Media (JNSM) announced the move as part of a UNESCO initiative to get more women to play an active role in the country’s media. JNSM has also recently appointed two women to top executive positions – a move, the station says, proves the network’s belief in female participation. JNSM will also partner up with Amman.net, an internet-based radio station, to host programmes by broadcasters Rawan al-Jioussi , Heba Obeidat and Asmaa Ragaa.
