Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation, Empower, has paid tribute to Emirati women for their leading role and effective participation in national development.

Emirati Women’s Day was launched by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. The important day was added to the calendar to boost the recognition of women in the region and highlight their pivotal role in the community. The day is part of a bigger movement to increase female empowerment in the Middle East.

"In today’s time, women serve as essential pillars of the community. While we should celebrate them all the time, it is indeed a pleasure to have a day dedicated to recognise the contributions of the Emirati women," said Ahmad bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

As one half of a country’s human resource capital, the role of women is intrinsic to its overall progress and stability. Empowerment of women is one of the building blocks of progress and the UAE has been at the forefront of this vision from its inception, a fact that Emirates Women’s Day will reiterate every year.

"The vision of our wise leadership has paved way to empower women in the country. While women in the country have made remarkable achievements, they’ve also adapted to new realities of modern times. Women today are at the forefront of the workforce in the UAE in both the government sector as well as a growing number in the private sector. This is a clear indication of the outstanding contributions made by Emirati women," added Ahmad Bin Shafar.

The UAE government firmly believes that women are entitled to fulfill active roles in society and become effective partners in the development process. This has not only offered parallel status to women in the society, but also provided a strategic direction for women to live their lives.

"Apart from helping bringing up generations, UAE women have played an instrumental role in the development of the country. From education to healthcare and social welfare, http://www.arabstoday.net/en/219/scw-launches-competition-123539women have time and again proven their professionalism and performance. Taking this as an opportunity, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, for her role in boosting the contribution of women, and we also appreciate all the women of the UAE for their contribution to the progress of the country," Bin Shafar concluded.

Empower celebrated Emirati Women’s Day with a series of events for Empower’s female employees. As part of a wider strategy to strengthen the company’s performance, profitability and efficiency, Empower believes in empowering more women to bring positive changes to the society
